ESD & Static Control Flooring in San Antonio
Seamless static dissipative and conductive resin floors that ground static at the source, protecting sensitive electronics, equipment, and people in data centers, labs, cleanrooms, and manufacturing facilities across San Antonio and the Texas Hill Country.
What Goes Into an AES ESD Floor
Specified Resistance Range
Conductive systems: 25,000 to 1,000,000 ohms. Static dissipative systems: 1 million to 1 billion ohms. We match the system to your spec, whether that's ANSI/ESD S20.20, ASTM F150, or your facility's static control program.
Verified Earth Ground
A static control floor only works if it's grounded. We install copper grounding strips tied to your building ground and verify the connection with point-to-ground readings before the floor is finished.
Diamond-Ground Prep
Every floor starts with diamond grinding to open the concrete and create a surface profile for mechanical bonding. Proper prep keeps the static control layers bonded and continuous. Delamination breaks the path to ground.
Moisture Tested Before We Coat
Every slab is moisture tested before we bid. When readings run high, we install a moisture mitigation primer approved for the ESD system, so the vapor barrier doesn't interfere with conductivity.
Seamless, Cleanable Surface
No tile seams, and no waxes or treatments needed to maintain static control. Chemical and abrasion resistant, built for daily cleaning and facility traffic.
Documented Testing
We take resistance readings during installation and again on the finished floor, following ANSI/ESD STM7.1 and ASTM F150. You receive a written test record for your QA file.
Who It's For
Electronics manufacturing · Aerospace and avionics · Data centers and server rooms · Pharmaceutical and research labs · Cleanrooms · Healthcare procedure areas · Military and government facilities · Solvent and powder handling areas
Why Static-Control Floors Fail
Most ESD floor failures trace back to skipped steps during installation, not the product. Here is what goes wrong and how we prevent it.

Skipped moisture testing: Vapor pressure from the slab can lift the coating and break the ground path. We test every slab before we bid.

Inadequate prep: A light sanding or acid etch does not open the concrete enough for a lasting bond. We diamond grind to the surface profile the system specifies.

Missing or unverified grounds: Without a verified connection to building ground, static has nowhere to go. We install copper grounding and confirm the connection before coating.

Isolated floor sections: Poorly detailed joints and transitions can cut sections of floor off from ground. We detail every joint to keep the system continuous.

No closeout testing: A floor that looks finished may not measure within spec. We test point-to-point and point-to-ground and document the results.

Wax and film buildup: Waxes, polishes, and film-forming cleaners insulate the surface over time. We provide maintenance guidance at handover so the floor keeps performing.

We use the same prep, grounding, and testing standard across San Antonio and the Texas Hill Country — Boerne, Schertz, Helotes, New Braunfels, and Kendall County.
Our ESD Flooring Installation Process
A controlled sequence where every layer is checked before the next goes down. Static control starts at the slab and the ground connection.
STEP 01
Survey & Prep
We survey the space, moisture test the slab, repair cracks and defects, and diamond grind to open a surface profile for bonding. Moisture mitigation is installed when readings require it. No shortcuts on prep.
STEP 02
Grounding
Copper grounding strips are installed and tied to a verified building ground. Ground points are laid out by room size and floor area so static has a reliable path off the floor.
STEP 03
Primer & Ground Layer
We install the primer and ground layer specified for your system, then check resistance before moving on. If the ground path isn't right at this stage, the finished floor won't be either.
STEP 04
Body Coat & Topcoat
The body coat goes down at the thickness your system calls for, followed by the static control topcoat. Joints are detailed so no section of floor is cut off from the ground path.
STEP 05
Testing & Walkthrough
We take point-to-point and point-to-ground readings on the finished floor, record site conditions, and provide a written test report for your QA file. Then we walk the floor with you.
ESD Systems, Matched to Your Facility
We don't sell one build for every room. After a site survey and moisture testing, we match the system to your traffic, chemical exposure, and required resistance range.
- Thin-Film Static Control Coating:Â A conductive or static dissipative coating system for server rooms, electronics storage, and light-traffic areas where you need static control without a heavy build. Typically around 20 mils.
- High-Build Static Dissipative Epoxy: A nominal 35-mil, three-coat system tested to ANSI/ESD S20.20 floor resistance and body voltage requirements. Smooth, seamless, and chemical resistant, built for electronics assembly, labs, and cleanrooms.
- Decorative Static Dissipative (Quartz or Flake): Static control with a decorative finish. A colored quartz broadcast adds texture and slip resistance for working floors, and vinyl flake gives a high-gloss look for visible spaces like control rooms, labs, and customer-facing areas.
- Conductive Troweled Mortar: A heavy-build, spark-resistant conductive system for areas that handle solvents, powders, or explosives, and for high-impact manufacturing floors.
After the survey, we recommend the build that fits your process and provide a detailed, line-item bid.
